About the practice

History

Minet Green Health Practice is located in purpose built premises between Camberwell and Brixton, serving a population within an approximate one-mile radius.

Minet Green Practice was formed when the two practices formerly known as the Iveagh Surgery and the Myatts Field Medical Practice merged in April 2015 to form a single practice.

Teaching

Minet Green Health Practice trains clinicians at all stages of training for the future NHS healthcare workforce. The practice  is accredited for teaching medical students by both Kings College London and St George’s University of London. It is also accredited for training Foundation doctors and General Practice trainees by National Health Service England – London Deanery. Such accreditation means that the Minet Green exceeds the quality standards required by NHSE and the General Medical Council.

Consequently, Minet Green patients may meet learners, always supervised, during visits to the practice. Students always seek consent to be present, and junior doctors will be transparent about their stage of training. But patients are always at liberty to decline learner involvement, with no detriment to the quality of their clinical care. Just tell reception or your clinician that you decline learner involvement.

We as trainers at Minet Green, and the students and junior doctors are hugely appreciative of the opportunities for learning that Minet Green patients generously offer them when they consent to the student’s presence.
